The Community at Prayer
Time for Reflection
Each day you will have ample time for quiet reflection and to write a daily personal Journal. Many participants find their time of reflection enhanced by long walks along the nearby cliffs and beaches in communion with God and nature.
In exploring the story of Jesus, you will make your own connections with the narrative of your own life, in the hope that the two stories will shed light on each other. Two one-hour conferences each day are supported by an evening liturgy, which expresses in prayer and ritual the journey of discipleship in the Gospel and in our lives.
Participants are together for Morning and Evening Prayer. Communities take it in turn to prepare and lead the liturgy. Weekday Masses are celebrated together usually at mid-day.
We also have "Cultural Masses" throughout the year, where we have a taste of the liturgy of each nationality represented at the Institute, including the language and music of the country and the national dress. In this way we learn and understand more about each other’s culture and people.
Participants are expected to take time and space for private prayer and meditation.
